1. Can I buy American Clay products directly from Rare Earth Resources?
No. Rare Earth Resources is a Distributor and does not sell directly to the public. Please see the Dealer list.
2. What is the cost of the American Clay for my project?
Dealer prices may vary and Contractor pricing is available in some cases, but a general rule of thumb is that the materials costs for your project will be
$1 per square foot of wall space. To determine the total sq ft of your project, determine the sq ft of each wall separately (length x height) then add the 4 walls,
together. You may want to subtract the area of large windows/doors.
3. What tools will be needed for an American Clay installation project?
The American Clay website (www.americanclay.com) has comprehensive installation instructions and a tool list. Our Dealers also carry many of the specialty
trowels that experienced installers prefer. A list of these tools is on our “Products” page.
4. Who can I call if I have a question regarding the products or the installation process?
You can call us! Also, many of the Dealers provide workshops and onsite training for crews who are unfamiliar with the American Clay products. We have 100%
success in training homeowners to use American Clay and many homeowners do successful projects without taking a formal workshop.
5. Where can I go to see the product installed?
Many of the Dealers have American Clay in their showroom, store, please phone first to make sure that their display meets your needs. Also, we keep a list of
projects in Colorado – many homeowners and businesses are happy to show off their project.
6. How I find a qualified person to install American Clay for me?
Some of the Dealers maintain Installer contacts and can provide them to you, or check their website. We also keep a file of qualified installers, you can phone us
to see if there is one in your area. It is important to meet with a potential installer and ask about their experience. Many installers use sample boards to ensure that the “look” is what a client wants. This is essential in working with American Clay, which is very versatile artistically.
7. What factors go into determining how much an American Clay installation will cost?
There are many factors that affect the cost of an Installation:
- Size and location of project
- Structure, whether the project involves a lot of technical areas (nichos, bancos), whether ceilings will be included, whether the install will be on
drywall or brown-coat, etc- Staging, whether extensive masking will be necessary
- Finish, or artistic treatments
